Adrian Cheng is a Hong Kong businessman and art collector who is known for his involvement in the art world. He is the founder and Executive Vice Chairman of New World Development, a Hong Kong-based real estate and infrastructure company, and the founder and CEO of K11 Art Foundation (KAF), a non-profit organization that promotes contemporary art and cultural exchange. Cheng is an avid collector of contemporary art, with a particular focus on Chinese contemporary art. He has built a significant collection of works by artists from around the world, and has supported the development of the art scene in Hong Kong through his involvement with various galleries and institutions. In addition to collecting, Cheng has also organised exhibitions and events that showcase the work of emerging and established artists. KAF showcases its work in the K11 Art Mall, which is located on People’s Square in Shanghai and is home to a variety of galleries, exhibitions, and events. The close-by Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai (MOCA Shanghai) has an extensive exhibition schedule that encompasses both contemporary art and design. While Art Basel Hong Kong remains the most important art expo in Asia, Shanghai has welcomed a number of other interesting new art events.
